Reliable tools for home use

I've bought several Hyper Tough items over the years – a 5-Shelf Plastic Shelving Unit, a Work Light, and now this 20V Max Cordless Impact Driver. They're consistently good for the price point. This impact driver performs just as well as my previous one for driving screws into wood, and the battery (from another Hyper Tough tool) fits right in. You know what you're getting with this brand, and it's always been reliable for my household tasks.

Good small drill

Bought the 12-Volt Max Lithium-Ion Drill. Compact size, good for tight spots. Battery holds charge well. Happy with the purchase.

Good for the price, minor issue

I bought the 20V Max Lithium-Ion Cordless Drill for some light home repairs. It performed well for basic tasks like hanging shelves and assembling furniture. The battery life was decent, and it felt comfortable in hand. My only minor complaint is that the chuck sometimes got a little sticky when changing bits, but it wasn't a deal-breaker. Overall, it's a solid value for what I paid.

Got what I needed, no fuss

Needed a new 25-Foot Tape Measure and saw Hyper Tough had one cheap. Ordered it online, came pretty quick. It's a tape measure, it works. Not fancy, but gets the job done. Good for just keeping in the junk drawer for when you need it. No issues, easy peasy.

Great value on tool set

As a first-time homeowner on a tight budget, I was looking for an affordable tool solution. I snagged the 107-Piece All-Purpose Tool Set when it was on a rollback deal. The price was really competitive, and it included almost everything I needed for basic fixes around the house. It felt like I got a lot of tools for my money. It definitely helped me save cash compared to buying individual pieces. For the price I paid, it was absolutely worth it.

Detailed look at the Cordless Circular Saw

I ordered the 20V Max Cordless Circular Saw online through Walmart's site. The ordering process was straightforward, and it arrived in about 6 days, well-packaged. The saw itself feels surprisingly sturdy for a budget brand. I used it to cut some plywood and 2x4s for a small workbench. It handled the cuts cleanly enough, though it did bog down a little on thicker material if I pushed it too hard. The battery (purchased separately) lasted for a good amount of cutting. I had a question about blade compatibility, and customer service responded to my email within 24 hours, which was helpful. For light to medium DIY, it's a decent tool, just don't expect it to replace a high-end saw for heavy-duty work.

Does anyone know if Hyper Tough ever does actual coupon codes? Like, the kind you type in at checkout? Or is it just whatever Walmart has on sale?

S Susan W. 3 weeks ago
Nah, I've never seen promo codes for them. It's always just rollback prices or clearance stuff directly through Walmart. Don't waste time looking for codes.

J Jeff Wright 3 weeks ago
Yeah, I think their deals are always just price drops. Like when Walmart runs their 'holiday tool savings' or whatever. No actual codes from Hyper Tough itself, afaik.

How long does it typically take to get a Hyper Tough order if I buy it from the Walmart website? Does it ship from a specific warehouse or just whatever's closest?

L Laura Scott 1 week ago
Depends on Walmart's stock and your location. For me in the Midwest, it's usually 3-5 business days if it's in stock online.

I've had Hyper Tough stuff arrive pretty quick, like 2-3 days, when I ordered it through Walmart. They usually ship from a Walmart distribution center so it's not like coming from some tiny shop.

I'm looking at the Hyper Tough 20V drill. Anyone know if the batteries are interchangeable with, say, Black & Decker? I already have some B&D stuff.

L Linda Thomas 1 month ago
Nope, pretty sure they're not. Most brands lock you into their own battery system. Hyper Tough is its own thing.

Pretty sure they're not compatible. I looked into this before and everything I saw said Hyper Tough batteries only work with Hyper Tough tools. Sucks, I know.

Is Hyper Tough basically just the Walmart version of Hart tools? Trying to decide between the two for a basic tool set.

G Grace Anderson 1 week ago
Kinda, yeah. Both are Walmart exclusive brands for budget tools. Hyper Tough is usually a bit cheaper than Hart, but also probably a step down in power/features.

They're definitely competitors in the same budget space. Hart might have slightly better build quality or a few more features for a bit higher price, but both are aimed at DIYers. Think of Hyper Tough as the absolute entry-level.

Thinking about grabbing the 20V drill for some light home stuff. Is Hyper Tough good enough for occasional DIY, or am I gonna regret not spending more on something else?

R Robert W. 4 weeks ago
Yeah, for light home use it's totally fine. I've got a couple of their smaller hand tools and they hold up okay for basic tasks. Don't expect pro quality but for hanging pictures or assembling furniture it's solid.

Depends what you mean by 'light'. If you're building a deck, probably not. But for like, changing out light fixtures or putting together IKEA stuff, it's perfect. Had my drill for a year, no complaints for what I use it for.
